2025 Criminal Tax Fraud and Tax Controversy Conference

Managing Member Guinevere Moore, COO & Director of Investigations Kathy Enstrom, and Associates Lauren Darwit and Maha Sadek are participating in the ABA Tax Section’s 2025 Criminal Tax Fraud and Tax Controversy Conference which takes place December 11-13 at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

On Friday, December 12th, Guinevere will moderate the session, Civil Tax: Exam, Collection, Appeals – Navigating Administrative Matters With a Reduced IRS Workforce, which takes place from 11:40 am – 12:35 pm. Attendees of this session will hear experienced practioners discuss the challenges that they are seeing, and the approaches that they are taking in the current environment.

At the same time, Maha will introduce a session titled “Criminal Tax: Sentencing Advocacy – Tips and Strategies for Both Post-Trial and Post-Plea Disposition.”

Also that day, Kathy is a panelist for the session, Whistleblowers – Nuts, Bolts and the Pay-Off , which takes place from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. She and her fellow panelists will address the necessary steps and careful planning involved in reporting someone to the IRS, as well as the consideration of potential collateral implications to the client, including challenging adverse aware determinations by the IRS in the U.S. Tax Court.

At the same time, Lauren will introduce the session, “Cybersecurity: Ethical Considerations in Protecting Confidential Tax Information.”
